Tourist destinations increasingly need to acquire data to plan and manage the welcoming of tourists according to incoming targets and to promote the local offer in terms of points of interest, attractions, activities and services.
However, investing in proprietary local apps appears to be an increasingly less efficient choice, considering the limited stay of travelers in the destination, the high costs of technological development and promotion and the low level of interoperability.
A dispersion of funds and energy that lowers the levels of the quality of technological solutions, complicating life for users, who are increasingly attentive to the value of privacy, authenticity and authority of the content they choose to use.
In this panel we will be discussing the topic with examples of destinations that have adopted proprietary and non-proprietary technological solutions, for a concrete comparison, with particular attention to data integration.
