The panel proposes a critical discussion among academics and managers on the characteristics of the Metaverse (or Metaverses), on the opportunities, risks (and possible failures) for companies in the next decade.
The debate among international academics, Extended Reality and Metaverse experts, and managers (ICTs and marketing experts) will allow us to outline possible future scenarios for companies by enhancing the technologies (virtual reality, augmented reality, gamification, AI, NFT), the characteristics of marketing and business opportunities for tourism, entertainment, hospitality, and other sectors.
The panel will discuss several questions: What characteristics does the Metaverse (or Metaverses) have and how will this impact the future of individuals and businesses? What technologies and protocols are there and what are the limits to their adoption and diffusion? Will the Metaverse revolutionize marketing? Why should a tourism company invest in the Metaverse? How can profitability be generated in the Metaverse?
