According to Buffer’s report “State of Remote Work 2022”, 97% of workers want to continue working remotely, at least part of the time. 41% say that if the pandemic were to end tomorrow, they would like to continue working remotely from multiple locations and not from their own home.
This data opens the door to important opportunities for destinations, for a development that goes beyond tourism and envisages new scenarios among the return of human capital, the relocation of businesses, the attraction of investments and the creation of new ‘remote first’ professionals, enhancing the skills of local communities.
Giacomo Trovato, Country Manager for Italy of Airbnb and Emma Taveri, City Councilor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Creativity of the Municipality of Brindisi tell us about it; Brindisi is among the 20 cities in the world that are winners of the Airbnb smart working destinations call for bids, which together are taking forward a project for the development of a tailor-made destination for smart workers in Puglia.
The Nomadi Digitali association will lead the discussion, showing data on the status of the project.
